3D filter application example of Photoshop CS4: 3D glare effect – production example

Create a new document 900 pixels long and 500 pixels wide. Fill it with black and create a new layer. Add cylinder shape to 3D menu

Select the 3D rotation tool and we can drag the cylinder to move it 360 degrees

Open the 3D toolbar in the window menu

We only need the outer surface of the cylinder, so close the top and bottom in the scene (just click on the little eye in front)

Click the material icon and create a new texture in the opacity column

Similarly create a new document of 900*500 pixels and fill the background with black

Open the texture, next we need to edit the texture pattern

Set the foreground color to white, select a 45 pixel brush, and set the hardness to 0. Set the parameters in sequence as shown below.

Create a new layer and drag out the white dot graphic

ctrl+duplicate layer, dynamic blur. Set the opacity of this layer to 60%, save and exit.

The texture just created has been applied to the cylinder surface. It looks a little darker now, select “Self-illumination”

Set “Self-illumination” to white and it looks much prettier now.

Add an Outer Glow layer style. The operation method is exactly the same as in previous versions of CS4.

Select the 3D Rotate tool and shorten the height of the cylinder. (See the picture below for specific operation methods)
(The X-axis and Y-axis control the horizontal and vertical length respectively, and the Z-axis controls the height. Friends who have done 3D should know this)

Drag the X-axis and Y-axis in the same way to enlarge the cylinder. Different from the Z axis, moving to the left is zooming in, while moving to the right is zooming in.
At this point, the glare production is completed.

Open the material picture, drag the created 3D glare into the material, and use the 3D rotation tool to adjust the size and position
Add a layer mask to remove unnecessary parts.

Similarly to the other glare, adjust the light color through layer styles. The final effect is shown in the picture below
