This tutorial introduces how to color a picture of a character whose main color is green. The process is relatively simple: first use the color adjustment tool to change the main color of the picture to green, and then appropriately strengthen and soften it. Then add some pink tones to the character’s face and skin color, and then add some complementary colors to the overall look.

1. Open the original image material, press Ctrl + J to copy the background layer, change the layer blending mode to “Screen”, change the opacity to: 20%, simply brighten the image, the effect is as shown below 1.

2. Create a color balance adjustment layer and adjust the shadows, midtones, and highlights. The parameter settings are as shown in Figures 2 – 4. The purpose of the operation is to change the main color of the picture to green. The effect is as shown in Figure 5.

6. Create a new layer and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E to stamp the layer. Select the menu: Image > Mode > Lab Color and select Unmerge. After confirmation, execute: Image > Apply Image, and parameter settings are as shown in Figure 15. After confirmation, create a curve adjustment layer and adjust the b channel. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 16, and the effect is as shown in Figure 17.

Create a new layer, stamp the layer, select the menu: Image > Mode > RGB Color, and select Unmerge in the pop-up dialog box.
