Filter application turns photos into works of art. At this time, if we process the photo into artistic effects, such as water-milled painting, rice paper painting, oil painting, etc., print it out, and add an antique fragrance. The antique wooden frame will give you a sense of appreciation when placed at home. Today we will use Photoshop to realize this wish!

1. Ink painting

Step one: Start Photoshop and open the original picture material, as shown in Figure 1. Press the F7 key to open the Layers panel, drag the “Background” layer to the “Create New Layer” button below to create two new layers.

Step 2: First select “Background Copy 2”, click the “Filter → Blur → Special Blur” command in the menu bar, open the “Special Blur” filter dialog box, and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 3: Click the “Filter → Artistic Effect → Watercolor” command in the menu bar, and set the parameters in the “Watercolor” dialog box that opens, as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4: In the “Layer Set the “Layer Blending Mode” of “Background Copy 2” to Hard Light in the panel, as shown in Figure 4.

Step 5: Select “Background Copy”, then click the “Filter → Blur → Gaussian Blur” command in the menu bar, and set the parameters in the pop-up “Gaussian Blur” dialog box, as shown in Figure 5.

Step 6: Then click the “Image→Adjustment→Photo Filter” command in the menu bar to open the “Photo Filter” dialog box and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 6. Click the OK button to apply the changes and set the Background Copy layer blending mode to Color.

Tips: In the production process of this example, different filter parameters and layer blending mode settings will produce very different effects. In actual production, you can appropriately change the filter parameters and layer blending mode to obtain the best results. artistic effect. Step 7: Select the background layer and click the “Image→Adjust→Decolor” command in the menu bar to remove the color from the background image. Next we are going to add a paper effect to the picture to make it more realistic. Select the “Background Copy 2” layer and open the “Actions” panel, click the triangle button to the left of it, load the “Texture” action group, select the “Parchment” action and click “Play Selected Action” below button to perform this action, as shown in Figure 7. Then return to the Layers panel and change the layer blending mode of this newly generated layer to Multiply and set its Opacity to 50%. Then press the shortcut key Ctrl Shift E to merge all visible layers, and then adjust parameters such as brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation to make the effect better. This antique Chinese painting is completed.

Step 8: Finally, we will frame the Chinese painting with an aluminum frame. Or load the “Frame” action group in the “Actions” panel, select the “Wooden Frame 50 pixels”, and click “Play Selected” below it.Click the “Operation” button to perform this action, so that the Chinese painting shown in Figure 8 is produced and mounted.

2. Painting on rice paper

The first step: Start Photoshop and open the photo material as shown in Figure 1. In the “Layer” panel, select the “Background” layer and drag it to the “Create New Layer” button below to create two layers.

Step 2: Select the “Background Copy 2” layer, click the “Filter → Blur → Gaussian Blur” command in the menu bar, open the “Gaussian Blur” dialog box, and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 9

Third Step: Click the “Filter → Artistic Effect → Shading Effect” command in the menu bar to open the “Shading Effect” dialog box, where you can set some parameters, as shown in Figure 10.

Step 4: In “Layer” In the panel, remove the “Indicator Layer Visibility” of the “Background Copy 2” layer, hide the “Background Copy 2” layer, and select the “Background Copy” layer. Click the “Filter → Sketch → Photocopy” command in the menu bar to open the “Photocopy” dialog box. Set some parameters in it, as shown in Figure 11.

Step 5: Then make the “Background Copy” layer invisible and select the “Background” layer. Click the “Filter → Sketch → Stamp” command in the menu bar to open the “Stamp” dialog box, where you can set some parameters, as shown in Figure 12.

Step 6: Make the “Background Copy” layer visible, then change its Layer Blending Mode from “Normal” to “Multiply” in the Layers panel. Then click the “Filter→Filter Library” command in the menu bar to open the “Filter Library” dialog box. Expand the “Distortion” column, select the “Diffuse Bright Light” filter, and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 13.

Step 7 : Next click the “New Effect Layer” button at the bottom right of the dialog box, then expand the “Brush Stroke” column, select the “Spray Stroke” filter, and set the parameters in the parameter setting area on the right. As shown in Figure 14.

No. Step 8: Make the “Background Copy 2” layer visible, and then change its “Layer Blending Mode” from “Normal” to “Multiply”. Click the “Filter → Texture → Texture” command in the menu bar to open the “Texture” dialog box and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 15.

Step 9 : Finally, “blur” “Background Copy 2”, then press the shortcut key Shift Ctrl E to merge the layers together, and adjust the hue and saturation of the image. The final effect is shown in Figure 16.

3. Oil painting

Step 1: Enter Photoshop and open the material shown in Figure 1. Then duplicate the layer in the “Layer” panel to get a copy of the layer.

Step 3: Select the “Background Copy” layer, and then click “Filter → Stylize → Relief Effect” in the menu bar to open the Relief Effect Filter dialog box and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 18. With the “Background Copy” layer selected, set the layer’s opacity parameter value to 30% to blend it with the “Background” layer.

Step 5: We will then continue working on the “Background” layer. Select the “Image → Adjustments → Brightness/Contrast” tool in the menu bar. In the brightness/contrast dialog box that appears, adjust the contrast parameter value to a larger value, and adjust the brightness parameter value appropriately, as shown in Figure 19.

Sixth Step: Finally, use the “Frame” action group to add a beautiful natural material frame to the oil painting. The final effect is shown in Figure 20.

Small Tip: Use the combination of painting smear effect and relief effect to make the photo produce the artistic effect of oil painting. But the key to the final effect lies in the parameter settings of the painting.
