Filter application turns photos into works of art. When we hold a digital camera and take in the beautiful scenery around us one by one, and then go back home and watch it carefully, we can’t help but experience the joy of selecting the scene and shooting at that time. But if you look at a photo for a long time, you will inevitably get bored. At this time, if we process the photo into artistic effects, such as water-milled painting, rice paper painting, oil painting, etc., print it out, and add an antique fragrance. The antique wooden frame will give you a sense of appreciation when placed at home. Today we will use Photoshop to realize this wish!
1. Ink painting
Step one: Start Photoshop and open the original picture material, as shown in Figure 1. Press the F7 key to open the Layers panel, drag the “Background” layer to the “Create New Layer” button below to create two new layers.

Step 7: Select the background layer and click the “Image→Adjust→Decolor” command in the menu bar to remove the color from the background image. Next we are going to add a paper effect to the picture to make it more realistic. Select the “Background Copy 2” layer and open the “Actions” panel, click the triangle button to the left of it, load the “Texture” action group, select the “Parchment” action and click “Play Selected Action” below button to perform this action, as shown in Figure 7. Then return to the Layers panel and change the layer blending mode of this newly generated layer to Multiply and set its Opacity to 50%. Then press the shortcut key Ctrl Shift E to merge all visible layers, and then adjust parameters such as brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation to make the effect better. This antique Chinese painting is completed.
Use actionStep 8: Finally, we will frame the Chinese painting with an aluminum frame. Or load the “Frame” action group in the “Actions” panel, select the “Wooden Frame 50 pixels”, and click “Play Selected” below it.Click the “Operation” button to perform this action, so that the Chinese painting shown in Figure 8 is produced and mounted.
2. Painting on rice paper
The first step: Start Photoshop and open the photo material as shown in Figure 1. In the “Layer” panel, select the “Background” layer and drag it to the “Create New Layer” button below to create two layers.

Then click the “Filter→Filter Library” command in the menu bar to open the “Filter Library” dialog box. Expand the “Distortion” column, select the “Diffuse Bright Light” filter, and set the parameters, as shown in Figure 13.
