1. Open the original film in PS. Duplicate the background layer.
Now we can see a lot of rocks in the lower left corner of the frame. Because our picture is going to be illusory. Soft style. So we need to get rid of these rocks first. Perform a Gaussian blur on the duplicate layer.

,
We add a mask to the duplicate layer. Use a soft black brush to paint the selected area in the image below on the mask.

Now we see that the stone in the lower left corner has softened.

2. Make 3 copies of the background layer. Move all 3 copies to the top of the Layers panel. Change the blending mode of the lowest of these 3 layers to Color Dodge. You will get the following effect.

Set the blending mode of the middle layer of the 3 layers to Multiply. You will get the following effect.

,
Set the blending mode of the top layer to Screen. Perform Gaussian blur.

We add a mask to this layer. Use a soft, dark brush to paint the selected area in the image below.

Set the opacity of this layer to 75%. You will get the following effect.

As you can see. The whole picture has become much softer. This is exactly what we want.
3. Now we get to the fun part. Add a cloud effect to your photos. In fact, the method is very simple. Just gradient fill^^
Click the Add Adjustment Layer button at the bottom of the Layers Panel. Add a gradient fill layer on top of all layers. Black to white. Linear. 90 degrees. 100% zoom.

Make 3 copies of this gradient fill layer. Add a mask as shown below to the top copy of the fill layer.

,
Set the blending mode of this layer to Screen. Opacity is 35%. The effect is as follows.

Add a mask to the middle duplicate layer. Pull two gradients as shown below on the mask.

Set the opacity of this layer to 60%. The blending mode is Color Dodge. The effect is as follows.

Add the following mask to the bottom layer of the three layers. Use a soft tip paintbrush for most areas. Use the cloud brush we downloaded for the part indicated by the arrow.

,
Change the blending mode to Screen. Opacity is 70%. The effect is as follows.

4. To give the picture more depth. Let’s add a Curves adjustment layer.

The effect is as follows.

Optional: I found that the lower part of the image was too dark after the adjustment. So I added a mask to the adjustment layer. Also pull several radial gradients. Change the foreground color (#a4a4a4) to transparent.

This will brighten the bottom of the image.

,
5, now you may be thinking. The sky part of the picture is somewhat empty. good. We can easily improve this part using the downloaded cloud brush. Add more variety to it.
Use the Eyedropper tool to pick up the color indicated by the arrow.

Create a new layer on top of all layers. Choose a brush tool. Feel free to pick your favorite cloud brush. Use 50% Opacity and Flow. Paint some blue on a new layer.

Next we have to make some overall adjustments. Create a new Color Balance adjustment layer on top of all layers. The settings are as follows.
shadow.

Midtones.

highlight.

Here is the final result.

Of course you can still play freely. Add some filters or texture effects of your choice. Just like the two versions shown at the beginning of the tutorial. Do it yourself.
Summary: In this tutorial we’ll learn a powerful way to change the tone and mood of a photo. You will find that the processed photos are completely transformed. I’ll also show you how to add some foggy effects to your photos. This method of changing the tone of a photo is great for photos that are relatively dark and lack color width.
