This tutorial shows you how to make a very gorgeous gold cast object. The general process: first decolorize the material picture and use curves to enhance the contrast, then adjust the hue/saturation to a golden tone, and then use multiple layers to create a very textured golden tone. Finally, adjust the overall color. Some details in the tutorial are not explained in detail, so you need to explore it by yourself when making it.
Final effect
Other effects
1. Create a new document of 900 * 675 pixels, and apply a gray to dark gray gradient on the background. Create a new layer and use the Pen Tool to draw the path shown in the image below.
2. Convert the path to a selection and add a golden gradient, appropriately increasing the noise (Filter > Noise > Add Noise). Then set the layer style, add shadow, bevel and relief, contour, and stroke respectively. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 3 – 6, and the effect is as shown in Figure 2.
3. Open the material shown in Figure 7, use the magic wand to pull it out, drag it in and place it on top of the graphic you just made, and place it appropriately.
Press Ctrl + M to adjust the curve of the material. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 9. After confirmation, press Ctrl + U to adjust the hue/saturation. Remember to check the coloring option and adjust it to a golden effect, as shown in Figure 10.
4. Copy the avatar material to one layer, lock the original avatar layer and fill it with a heavier gold color as the background color. Then copy the avatar copy layer to 3 layers, and set the layer blending mode to “Overlay”, “Multiply”, and “Soft Light” respectively.
5. Merge several layers related to the avatar, and then adjust the hue/saturation and curves. Then add a layer style and set the shadow, inner shadow, bevel and embossing effects respectively. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 13-15.
6. Copy the map background to one layer, press Ctrl + Shift + ] to bring it to the top, lock the layer and fill it with color: #8A6F38, and change the layer blending mode to “Overlay”.
7. Duplicate the current layer, stroke it, change the layer fill to: 0%, and then change the layer blending mode to “Overlay” to complete the final effect.
