1. Restore the blue sky

The sky is the most common element in digital landscape photos. The photo below was taken at noon, so the light is relatively large. Judging from the picture, the sky is too bright and the details of the clouds are not rich enough, which affects the performance of the entire photo. At this time, you need to use the “Dark Keys/Highlights” tool in Photoshop to adjust.

Open the picture and select “Image – Adjustments – Shadows/Highlights”. In the Shadows/Highlights interface, move the Highlight button to the right.

In this way, the brightness of the highlights in the photo is reduced, and the details are highlighted, while the mid-tones and dark tones are not affected. At the same time, we can move the darkening speed slightly to the right to brighten the details of the shadow parts of the picture.

2. Make photos more transparent

Select the “Image – Adjustments – Levels” option. In the Levels control panel, move the black point in the histogram that determines the dark tone of the photo to the right to make the black in the shadow areas of the photo purer.

3. Adjust the color of yellow leaves

Next, select “Image-Adjustments-Hue/Saturation”, select “Yellow” in the drop-down menu of the control window, and move the hue speed to the left.

As a result, the color of the autumn trees in the photo instantly turns golden.

4. Adjust the color of the entire image

Finally, select the “Full Image” option in “Image – Hue/Saturation” and move the saturation slider to the right to make the colors of the photo more vivid.

However, it is worth noting that the increase in saturation must be moderate, otherwise the color of the photo will be too bright and appear false.
