Hand-painting is becoming more and more popular. If you still don’t know how to do it, come and take a make-up lesson as soon as possible. The following tutorial will be very detailed and clearly introduce the processing of various details of imitation hand-painting, including the processing of facial features, hair, contours, highlights, etc. Very worth learning. Postscript: Hand-painting is an art. When making, you need to polish every detail carefully, so that the effect will be perfect.

1. Open the original image and make a copy.
2. Use the Neat Image filter to sharpen the skin, set the noise level and reduction amount to the highest, and sharpen it vigorously. There is no need to retain details. After setting, click “Apply”. The parameters are as shown below. If you don’t have this filter yet, you can download one online.
The result after grinding is as follows:
3. Use the blur tool to blur everything. I can’t use the smudge tool well.
4. I like to do the mouth first. Use a tool to select the mouth. I used the lasso tool. It doesn’t matter if the selection is not precise. I will deal with it later.
5. Alt+Ctrl+D feathers a certain value. Click the Black and White button below the layer to create a Color Balance adjustment layer.
6. Adjust the color of your mouth to your favorite color.
7. Select the brush tool, set the foreground to black, and erase the color beyond the lips in the mask. Look at the picture:
8. Select the pen tool and set its properties to path. First draw the path of the upper lip, then hold down Ctrl+Alt, the mouse will turn into a black solid arrow, click on the blank space and release. Then draw the path of the lower lip, hold down Ctrl+Alt and click in the blank space, so that there are two paths. The pen tool should be used in conjunction with the Ctrl, Alt, and Shift keys. Experiment with each during the drawing process, and you will soon find out the tricks.
9. Create a new layer, select the Brush Tool, and set the brush to a small dot of 1 pixel; then select the Pen Tool, set a foreground color you like, and right-click on the canvas – Stroke Path.
10. Select Brush as Tool and check Simulate Pressure.
11. Right-click again—Delete Path, and the effect will be as follows:
12. If the drawing is not ideal, right-click Ctrl+T – Transform, click and hold the grid and drag until the effect is satisfactory.
13. Set the lip line mode to Soft Light, the effect is as follows:
14. Use the pen tool to outline the highlight path on the lips. This time, make the brush a little larger, 3 pixels, use white for the foreground, create a new layer, right-click – Stroke.
15. Right-click-Delete Path, Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur, blur a little bit.
16. Draw the highlight of the lips again. This time, set the brush to 5 pixels, create a layer, right-click – Stroke.
17. Delete the path and make the Gaussian blur slightly larger.
18. Use the pen tool to draw the dental suture line (as mentioned before, press Ctrl+Alt and click in the blank space after drawing one, then draw the next line, and click again after completing the drawing), create a new layer and draw borderUse 1 pixel for the brush size.
19. Delete the path, set the mode to soft light, and reduce the opacity to make it look less stiff.
20. Use the noose to outline the reflective position on the teeth and feather it.
21. Use curves to brighten highlights.
22. Next, draw the nose in the same way as before, so we won’t repeat it again.
23. Delete the path, mode: soft light, the effect is as follows:
24. Then draw the highlight on the nose, use white, set the brush to 8 pixels, create a new layer, and stroke.
25. Delete the path and Gaussian blur.
26. Outline the path of the eyeliner and double eyelids, set the brush size to 2 pixels, create a new layer, and stroke.
27. Delete the path, mode: soft light, the effect is as follows:
28. Outline the highlights on the eyelids. The brush size is 2 pixels, the foreground is white, create a new layer, and stroke.
29. Delete the path, Gaussian blur 0.6 pixels, effect:
30. Use the lasso tool to select the eyeballs and adjust the brightness/contrast to make the eyes more lively.
31. Outline the area under the eyeball, create a new layer, use brown strokes, and uncheck to simulate pressure.
32. Gaussian blur.
33. Draw another 2-pixel white highlight and check Simulate Pressure; click two more white dots on it, as shown in the picture:
34. I really can’t draw eyelashes, so I just use a brush and press Ctrl+T to transform them.
35. When drawing hair, pay attention to the layers of hair. This is my first time to draw. Draw the entire path first, then create a new layer, stroke, set the brush to 2 pixels, and check simulate pressure.
36. Create a new layer, change the color, set the brush to 1 pixel, and paint another layer.
37. Delete the path, move the upper layer slightly, and set the mode. The effect will be as follows:
38. Then outline the lines of the arms and stroke them.
Change the layer mode: Soft Light, lower the transparency a bit.
39. Use a noose to draw out the reflective areas of the hair and make it feathery.
Use Curves to highlight.
Finally, use curves to adjust the overall color, stamp the layer, and you’re done. There are still some areas that haven’t been trimmed, such as clothes and eyebrows. I’m no longer patient, so that’s it.
