This tutorial mainly uses Photoshop to hand-draw a dreamy music girl. The picture represents a beautiful musician’s fantasy of being able to play a harp using a spider web. This tutorial is a PS hand-drawn work. I hope it will be helpful to your hand-drawing skills.
Let’s take a look at the final effect:
Concept and sketch
I often draw a sketch, either on the computer or on canvas. Every idea is valuable and they are often combined with a large number of original ideas. First I’m going to draw another image. But when I saw the spider web, I immediately changed my original idea. From this new theme, I drew a spider web where the tree branches, and a beautiful girl fantasizing about her harp.
Use computer to start drawing:
After scanning, define the resolution (150dpi is enough). Here I use Photoshop cs or above. I defined some layers like this: Background>Character>Tree layer. And perform a Gaussian blur.
Do you have a question – why is it blurry in the first time? The reason is that I want to add smooth details because of the scan There are a lot of sharp details that are not needed. After blurring my painting it gives me an easier way to draw.
Production of black and white paintings
My ideal separation layer is to handle the background or foreground separately. Use artboard to draw tree trunks. I particularly like this texture of trees.
I like the 3D character (Victoria). So here I also draw a girl like this, carefully drawing the head and hands. The Poser Girls is a great reference :). I tried using all paint gray layers, showing them from far to near, and from white light to the darkest shadow.
In the background, I created a custom brush to paint some organic matter. Then you can easily guess the shape of the brush used. A filter is used in the background to create a blur effect in the distance, and some excess lines are erased, as shown in the picture:
Also add foreground plants and vegetation layers. I want you to use Photoshop paths, transparency and white to draw a shiny spider web.
Add additional details to the canvas, focusing on a few parts to draw the eye to them: project/hand/face/ spider. Adjust layer effects at any time, here transparency and eraser are combined. Add some image textures.
Color
Add a “color” layer on top of all my layers. I used a paintbrush to paint colors on it. Since my main body was a layered setup, I tried different color scheme configurations and it was easy to change without taking too much time. My colors start with blue and go in order: orange/green/yellow/brown, ending in fall.
The last step is to create a new layer on top of all the layers to add more details. Due to the spider webs, the three-dimensional effect is a bit blurry during color grading. After asking for advice on the forum, I changed some of the many mistakes I made (changed the spider’s composition) and added a texture pattern to the hat, and some details on the girl’s body. . In this step, I re-corrected the gray layer and added smoother colors without “eating” memory. You can see the details of my layers in the picture below.
