When I saw the rendering, I couldn’t believe it was drawn in PS from. I really admire the author’s artistic skills. It may be a little difficult for novices to draw because there are so many details to depict. It takes some time and patience.
Final effect
1. Create a new document of appropriate size and fill the background with light blue. Create several new layers and draw the hair, skin, veil on the back and the white wedding dress on the body.
2. When I painted the skin color block just now, I divided it into two layers. One is the face connected to the ears. In another test, the body is connected with the hands. You should be able to see by now that it is okay to not separate them. Then use the burn and dodge tools to create a general three-dimensional effect. Don’t be too careful. We will deal with the details later.
3. When using the burn and dodge tools, don’t use too much pressure. Generally, it should be within 10%, and then Apply slowly and repeatedly.
4. Next, let’s start with the face. First draw the selection and draw the nose.
5. I divided the mouth into three layers, namely the lips, the dark tone of the mouth and the teeth.
6. Use the burn and dodge tools to paint the layers of the lips.
7. Add some noise to the lips (Filter > Noise > Add Noise).
8. Draw the highlights again, and the mouth is completed.
9. Next, draw the eyes, also in layers. If you think there are too many layers, you can merge them after you finish painting.
10. Draw the eyes in the same way.
11. To draw the highlights of the eyes, create a new layer, fill the selection with white, and then adjust the opacity.
12. To make eyelashes, use a pen to outline the path and then use the picture to trace the path.
13. The left eye is drawn in the same way, and the eye part is completed.
14. Let’s strengthen the layers of the face and highlight its three-dimensionality.
15. If the painted color is wrong, you can use color balance or hue/saturation to adjust it. However, if the mode selected when using burn or dodge is correct, there is generally no need to adjust the color.
16. Do some highlight processing on the face to make it brighter. The general feeling on the face comes out.
17. Then draw the ears, and still use the burn and dodge tools to create a three-dimensional effect.
18. Then there is the hair. In the edge mode of the hair layer, give it a transition.
19. Use the smudge tool to smear the edges of the hair to draw out the edges.
20. Use a brush to draw the hair.
21. From top to bottom, the next step is to depict the body and hands. The method is very same as that of painting the face just now. Also use the burn and dodge tools to highlight its three-dimensional feel.
22. The effect of the body and hands is roughly completed.
23. Use the burn tool to highlight the rose above the head.
24. After spitting everything out, sharpen it again (Filter > Sharpen > USM Sharpen).
25. Add some patterns on the clothes.
26. Now draw the wrinkles on the clothes.
27. Basically completed effect.
