This tutorial introduces how to make a sword with a relatively simple structure. From the renderings, it seems that the sword does not have many components. During production, each part only needs to be disassembled and made separately. This will make it easy to do.
Final effect
1. Create a new 600 * 800 pixel file with the background fill color: #232848. Create a new layer and name it “Subject Outline”. Use a pen to outline the outline of the sword, convert it to a selection and fill it with white. The effect is as shown below .
2. Use the rectangular marquee tool to select the part shown in Figure 2, press Ctrl + J to copy to a new layer, lock the layer and select the gradient tool, set the color as shown in Figure 3, and pull out the part shown in Figure 4 linear gradient shown.
3. Use a rectangle to select the selection shown in Figure 5, select the gradient tool, set the color as shown in Figure 6, and pull out the radial gradient as shown in Figure 5.
4. Return to the “Body Outline” layer, use the rectangular marquee tool to select the part shown in Figure 7, press Ctrl + J to copy to a new layer, select the Gradient Tool, set the color as shown in Figure 8, and pull it out The linear gradient shown in Figure 9.
5. Create a new layer, use a pen to outline the selection shown in Figure 10, press Ctrl + Alt + D to feather 3 pixels, fill color: #8292EA, the effect is as shown in Figure 11.
6. Use the same method to select the part shown in Figure 12 and add the gradient color.
7. Return to the “Body Outline” layer, select the selection shown in the picture below, press Ctrl + J to copy to a new layer, and pull up the same radial gradient color as above.
8. Create a new layer on top of the layer, use a pen to outline some small shapes, and fill them with dark blue. The effect is as shown below.
9. Return to the “Subject Outline” layer, use a pen to outline the selection shown in Figure 15, create a new layer, and pull up the linear gradient color shown in Figure 16.
10. Create a new layer, use a pen to outline part of the pattern path, convert it to a selection and fill it with dark blue. The effect is as shown below.
11. Now let’s take a look at the overall effect. The toughness part is still unfinished. Let’s continue below.
12. Return to the “Body Outline” layer, use the rectangular marquee tool to select the tough part, press Ctrl + J to copy to a new layer, lock the layer, and pull up the linear gradient shown in Figure 19 , the effect is shown in Figure 20.
13. Use a pen to outline the selection shown in Figure 21 and make it darker appropriately.
14. Finally, add some small decorations and adjust the details to complete the final effect.
