Everyone has been concerned about the beauty techniques of people’s photos for a long time. Based on my many years of experience, I have carefully prepared a set of cases for readers here. The examples include the “dermabrasion” technique that everyone has been paying attention to. In addition, there are also character beautification and light makeup techniques.

Before starting to learn the example, you can download the supporting materials of the example first, and then follow the steps to learn.
(1) Execute the “File” → “Open” command to open the material “Background and Beauty.psd” file, as shown in Figure 1-1.

(2) Use the “Lasso” tool to create a selection on the character’s skin image, as shown in Figures 1-2 and 1-3.

(3) Copy the image, and then execute the “Filter” → “Blur” → “Gaussian Blur” command to blur the image in the selected area, as shown in Figure 1-4.

(4) Add a layer mask to “Layer 1” in the “Layer” palette, and edit the mask at the edges of the character’s face and eyes. As shown in Figure 1-5.

(5) Refer to the above method and continue to use the “Brush” tool to display the image, as shown in Figure 1-6.

(6) Select the “Sharpen” tool to sharpen the character’s eyes to make them more expressive, as shown in Figure 1-7.

(8) Set the “Foreground Color” to white, and use the “Brush” tool to draw the highlight effect of the character, as shown in Figure 1-8.

Tip: The “opacity” and “size” of the brush should be adjusted appropriately when drawing highlights.
(9) Keep the brush selected and set its option bar, as shown in Figure 1-9.

(9) Use the “pen” tool to draw a path at the corresponding position in the view and stroke it, as shown in Figures 1-10 and 1-11.

Tip: When editing the mask, adjust the opacity and size of the brush appropriately.
(15) Add an “Adjustment” layer to the image in the “Adjustment” palette, as shown in Figure 1-18.

(16) Invert the mask of the “Adjustment” layer, use the “Brush” tool to edit the mask, and create an eye shadow effect, as shown in Figure 1-19.
