Photoshop Tutorial: Create Refreshing Blue-Purple Character Pictures – Character Color Adjustment

Original This tutorial introduces a refreshing monochrome coloring method. The process is very simple: first simply beautify the character. Then use gradient mapping to realize color conversion, and finally slightly darken the light and dark relationship of the picture and enhance the texture.

Final effect

1. Open the original image material, press Ctrl + J to copy the background layer, change the layer blending mode to “Screen”, and change the opacity to: 10%, the effect is as shown below.

2. Create a gradient mapping adjustment layer. The color settings are as shown in Figure 2. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to “Color” and the opacity to: 50%. The effect is as shown in Figure 3.

3. Create a color balance adjustment layer and adjust the midtones and highlights. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 4 and 5, and the effect is as shown in Figure 6.

4. Create a new layer, fill it with color: #45166C, change the layer blending mode to “Screen”, and change the opacity to: 30%. The effect is as shown below.

5. Create a gradient mapping adjustment layer. Set the color as shown in Figure 8. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to “Lighten” and the opacity to: 80%. The effect is as shown in Figure 9.

6. Use the pen tool to cut out the lips of the character, convert them to a selection and press Ctrl + Alt + D to feather 1 pixel. Then create a color balance adjustment layer and adjust the midtones and highlights. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 11 and 12, and the effect is as shown in Figure 13.

7. Create a gradient mapping adjustment layer and set the color to black and white. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to “Soft Light” and the opacity to: 30%. The effect is as shown in Figure 15.

8. Create a new layer and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E to stamp the layer. Execute: Filter > Others > Customize, the value is the default as shown in Figure 16. After confirmation, change the layer opacity to: 30%, the effect is as shown in Figure 17.

9. Create an optional color adjustment layer and adjust the magenta. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 18, and the effect is as shown in Figure 19.

10. Create a new layer and stamp the layer. Change the layer blending mode to “Screen” and the opacity to: 10%. The effect is as shown below.

11. Create a new layer, select the gradient tool, and draw a white to black radial gradient from the center of the canvas to the corners. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to “Multiply” and the opacity to: 30%. Add a layer mask and use a black brush to erase the middle part. The effect is as shown below.

12. Create a new layer, change the layer blending mode to “Screen”, set the foreground color to: #45166C, use a brush to paint the selected part shown in Figure 22, the effect is as shown in Figure 23.

Finally adjust the overall color to complete the final effect.
