Final effect
1. Press “ctrl+n” to create a new file in Photoshop. The settings are as follows.
2. Use the brush tool to draw the outline of the tree.
3. Create a new layer and use a thicker black brush to draw the tree trunk.
4. Change a brush and set it as follows.
5. Use brown to depict the bright and dark parts of the tree trunk.
6. Use the blur tool to add light and shadow effects.
7. Use the smear tool to pull out a thin branch at the end of the trunk. Pay attention to the effect in the upper right corner of the picture below.
8. Create a new layer and use a large green brush to paint the shape of the tree crown.
9. Select a leaf-effect brush to paint the crown and create a rich leaf texture effect
10. Insert a background layer at the bottom of the tree and fill it with dark yellow, as shown below.
11. Select the eraser tool, select the natural brush shape in the upper left corner of the picture below, and erase the natural state on the edge of the crown, as shown below.
12. Select the smudge tool and use a larger brush size to rub out the shape of the tree roots at the bottom of the trunk.
13. Select the menu: Image > Adjustment > Brightness/Contrast to adjust the brightness and contrast of the screen. The settings are as follows.
14. Select the leaf-shaped brush and make the settings shown below. And choose the foreground color to be bright green and the background color to be dark yellow.
15. Use the set leaf brush to paint on the crown part.
16. Duplicate the canopy layer and blur the lower canopy layer with a Gaussian blur filter.
17. Use the highlight tool to highlight the upper left corner of the picture, the tree crown and the outline of the tree trunk to increase the sunlit picture effect.
18. Duplicate the tree again, do Gaussian blur on the upper layer, and set the layer mode to “Soft Light” and the opacity to 73%. Finish!
