Photoshop Tutorial: Partial Focus Photo Frame Effect – Effect Tutorial

This tutorial will show you how to create an accent on a photo. Hope it’s useful to you

Renderings

1. First find a suitable photo, I use the photo below

Open the original image and use theRectangular Marquee Tool to create a selection on the dog’s head

Then press CTRL+J to copy the dog head selection to a new layer and hide the layer(cancel the eyes)

Now return to the original image and press SHIFT+CTRL+UDecolor to turn it into a black and white photo

2. Press CTRL+J to copy the black and white photo, and execute Filter–Blur–Gaussian Blur on the copied layer

Change the blending mode of this layer to Linear Light and the opacity to 55%

3. Then press SHIFT+CTRL+N to create a new layer, and press SHIFT+F5 to fill it with color#014782

Now set the color layer mode to Soft Light and the opacity to 45%

4. Merge all visible layers, execute layer–Merge Visible Layers, so that all visible layers are merged into A layer, press CTRL+L to adjust the color level of the layer

Your photo should now look like the one below

Run Filter–Distort–Diffuse Light

5. Continue to create a new layer and fill it with white

Select the Eraser Tool (Soft Angle, Hardness 0%) and erase the center color of the white layer. Make it look softer

6. Now you can make the dog head layer in step 1 visible (check the eyes in front of the layer), and perform CTRL+L level adjustment on it

The Outer Glow, Stroke layers should now be Style on this layer, execute Layer–Layer Style–Blending Options

Now we’ve added a photo frame for our cute puppy

7. We also need to add some text. Select the text tool, the font is Tahoma, the size is 14 points, and the color is white. Enter what you want to say

Add an outer glow to the text layer

Finally we need to add white lines to link the image and text. Select theLine Tool and draw 2 white lines, as shown in the picture

Also add a white point at the junction using the Ellipse Tool.
