Photoshop Tutorial: Synthesize Cool iPhone Poster Effect – Poster Design

In today’s photoshop synthesis tutorial, we will teach you how to use some brushes and pictures in photoshop to design a cool sky city effect for iPhone. Also used are techniques like selections, masks, brushes and a few tricks to make this tutorial more interesting and spectacular.

Final renderings we made:

Some of the images and brushes listed below are what we will use, of course you can have your own preferences.

Step one: Set up the workspace

Open photoshop and create a new canvas 1024×680px size. .

Step 2: Add a gradient background

Add a gradient background setting to the first layer as follows:

The image will appear as follows

Step 3: Add iphone pictures

Now we download the iPhone picture, and then use the Photoshop pen tool to create a selection.

Add iPhone pictures to the workspace. If the image is too large, you can use the photoshop shortcut to press CTRL+T or select Edit-Transform-Zoom in the menu bar to resize it. To keep the image proportions you can hold down the SHIFT key while resizing.

Step 4: Add lawn

Download the lawn image and open it in photoshop.

Resize the image so that the lawn layer is below the iPhone layer. This way the iPhone will stand tall on the lawn.

Step 5: Create a mask for the lawn

As you can see the lawn picture has some hard corners. What we’re going to do is make them softer and rounder. Then select the layer where the lawn is located and press the Add Layer Mask button below the layers panel. Now we click on Add Layer Mask to select the lawn.

Choose an Airbrush Soft Round (probably a soft corner, if you have a good translation, please leave a message and tell us) to smooth the corners

Don’t forget to set your foreground color to black, so that the added mask will do 100% damage (this translation sounds like a game, haha). If you choose another color instead, the position of the mask will leave marks and we don’t want that.

When you’re done masking, try to get rid of those ugly corners if possible. Don’t be afraid to start, we will use brushes to add some effects to the lawn next

Step 6: Draw some flowers

Download the brush Floral Deco brushes and select brush nr. 22.

in the brush list

After placing a flower, copy this layer and flip it horizontally (EditTransform>Flip Horizontal) Place it on the other side.

Select the Eraser Tool (E) and remove some of the long leaves of the flower. This step is optional. You can clear them or leave them alone, but I decided to erase them.

Now select the brush brush nr. 24 and add some pink flowers as shown. Make sure the flower layer is below the iPhone layer

Step 7: Add some flowers

Download these flowers (orange flower, pink flower1, pink flower2, gerbera flower) and select them with the Pen Tool (P) and add them to the workspace. Make sure the flower layers are in On iPhone layer

Step 8: Paint some lawn

Next download the Grass brushes to paint on the lawn. Change the two green colors for better results. Place the lawn layer below the iPhone layer but above the lawn.

Step 8

We will add some curves around the iPhone. First, expand the brush tool, and the specific settings are as follows

Select the Pen Tool and create a path around the iPhone. Then right-click and select the stroke path, select Brush and select Simulate Pressure.

It will have a spread effect around the iPhone. Duplicate this layer 3-4 times to make this layer look more obvious. Each time you duplicate the layer, change the color to pink or white or bright red and move them slightly to make the movement more obvious.

Step 10: Add more elements

Next we will add a butterfly and hot air balloon. So I still need to download these two images. Use the Pen Tool to create selections and then add them to the workspace, then resize them fully to fit.

Step 10: Light floating clouds

Next we will add some light clouds to the background

Finally

Haha how to complete the masterpiece. Let’s preview the final effect

I hope you all enjoyed this compositing tutorial and learned something from it. Some of the publicityposter designs we see actually depend a lot on having good materials. Okay, that’s it. I look forward to meeting you in the next tutorial.
