From the renderings, it appears that the clay pot has many light-receiving surfaces. For a moment it seemed like there was no way to start. But if you look carefully, you can find it. In fact, the clay pot is composed of two large parts, the mouth and the main part. Once the idea is clear, production is very simple.
Final effect
1. Create a new file of 600 * 600 pixels, and temporarily fill the background with white. Create a new layer named “Body Outline”, use the pen tool to outline the outline of the pot, convert it to a selection as shown in Figure 1, and then fill it with black. The effect is as shown in Figure 2.
2. Duplicate the layer you just worked on, outline the top part with a pen and press Delete to get the selection part shown in the picture below.
3. Select the gradient tool color settings as shown in Figure 4, and pull out the radial gradient as shown in Figure 5.
4. Select the Dodge tool to add some light. The effect is as shown below.
5. Create a new layer, use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to draw a perfect circle selection, press Ctrl + Alt + D to feather 10 pixels, as shown in Figure 7, and then fill it with color: #EDA14B, the effect is as shown in Figure 8.
6. Create a new layer, use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to pull out the selection shown in Figure 9, press Ctrl + Alt + D to feather 5 pixels, and fill with color: #F9AF58. After canceling the selection, execute: Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 10, and the effect is as shown in Figure 11.
7. Create a new layer, use the same method to draw an elliptical selection, feather it slightly and fill it with color: #FED271. After canceling the selection, blur it dynamically. The effect is as shown in Figure 13.
8. Create a new layer, use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to pull out the elliptical selection shown in Figure 14, fill it with color: #7B3A04, then set the foreground color to: #BC6305, and use a brush to paint highlights on the edges. The effect is shown in Figure 15.
9. Create a new layer above the “Main Outline” layer, use a pen to outline the selection at the interface, fill it with color: #7E4102, and use the burn/dodge tool to slightly adjust the brightness. The effect is as shown below.
10. Create a new layer on top of the layer, use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to pull out the elliptical selection shown in Figure 17, fill it with color: #7B3A04, and then apply highlight to the edges. The effect is as shown in Figure 18.
11. Then use the Dodge tool to highlight the area shown in Figure 19. The effect is as shown in Figure 20.
12. Create a new layer and use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to pull out the image shown in Figure 21.For the selected area shown, fill color: #8A3E02, add highlights, and the effect is as shown in Figure 22.
13. Create a new layer, use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to pull out the selection shown in Figure 23, and fill it with color: #783701. The effect is as shown below.
14. Create a new layer above the background layer and add a shadow appropriately. The effect is as shown below.
15. Finally, add the background color, and then modify the details appropriately to complete the final effect.
