PS Example: Making Polka Dot Effect
1. Open a picture.
2. Call up the channel panel.
3. Click the New Channel button under the Channel Panel to create a new Alpha 1 channel.
4. Press the shortcut key “M” and use the rectangle tool to select a rectangular range in the channel where you need to create an effect.
5. Press the shortcut key “G” and use the paint bucket to fill the rectangular selection with a white to black gradient color.
6. Press “Ctrl D” to cancel the selection.
7. “Filter/Blur/Gauss Blur” (Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur), set the value to 30 pixels. The setting value can be set according to your own needs. This is not fixed, as long as it meets your own effect needs.
8.Filter/Pixels/Color Half… (Filter>Pixelization>Color Halftone command), set “Max.Radius (maximum radius)” to 10 pixels in the dialog box , the rest are default values. I set it to 10 pixels. This setting value is not fixed, it depends on your needs.
9. While holding down the Ctrl key, click the Alpha 1 channel in the channel panel, load the selection, and then press the Delete key to delete the selection.
10. The channel returns to RGB. Bring up the layers panel and create a new layer.
11. Press the “D” key, then press the “X” key to set the background color to white. Then press the Alt Delete key to fill the image with white. You can customize the background color to whatever color you want the effect on the picture to be.
12. Press “Ctrl D” to cancel the selection. OK! OK! OK! OK! OK! OK! OK!
Based on this, you can also change some visual effects and try them according to your own needs. For example, before color halftone, you can change the shape of the channel at will, which can change the arrangement of the final holes.
