Idea: Use a few simple tools of PS to collapse the building first, and then use layer styles and some found material brushes to synthesize a realistic impact effect.

Original image
1. Open the original image and copy the background layer (ctral+j) and change the layer name to Off Top (you can name it whatever you want). Here I am going to use PS tools to paint out the roof of this layer, and then add a mask to this layer and use a few special brushes to create a fragmented feeling with uneven impact time. Specific steps are as follows.
21. Use the Rectangle Tool (m) to draw a rectangular selection on the top layer.
3. Do not switch tools (make sure that the selection property of your rectangle tool is the default, which means you can only draw a rectangular selection). Place the mouse in the selection and move the selection to the side as shown below. Execute the feathering command (ctral+alt+d|shift+F6) and the feathering value is 5 (you can refer to this setting value).
4. Immediately after the previous step, switch to the move tool and hold down the alt key on the keyboard to move the selection to the appropriate position as shown below.
5. In this step, use the Repair Tool (j) and the Clone Stamp (s) tool to remove the hard edges pointed by the arrows in the picture above.
6. To add a layer mask to the top layer, click the Add Layer Mask command under the Layers palette. Use the several brushes in the red box in the picture below to erase the fragments with the foreground color black.
7. The effect of erasing below, haha, you need to switch to the concentrated brush. Try it as much as possible to make the fragment effect look realistic and natural.
8. Select the background layer (there is a slight mistake in the screenshot) and use the pen tool to outline the outline of the roof (red box screenshot in the picture below). After outlining, hold down Ctrl and hit Enter to convert the path into a selection.
9. After converting to a selection, you can directly ctral+c and then ctral+v or directly ctral+j. After it comes out, it will be layer one in the picture below.
10. Name the upper layer “Top” and place it on the top layer. Use the Move Tool (v) to rotate it counterclockwise about 10 degrees (you can use feel (⊙o⊙) for this).
11. This step is cumbersome and everyone needs to be patient. Use the lasso tool to draw a selection (do not feather it) and then switch to the move tool (hold Ctrl while in other tool states to temporarily switch to the move tool) and throw the selected fragments out. If you try some good methods, remember to share them.
12. In this step, I used the imitation stamper to replace the brushes with the fragment brushes used in step 6, and brushed some fragment particles in the lower part of the picture.
13. Repeat the above 2 steps to make the debris spread wider and wider.
14. Create a new layer and name it “Meteor”, then use the Lasso tool to draw a selection at the position shown in the picture (without feathering), fill it with white, and then execute Filter – Render – Layered Clouds.
15. Then execute the Filter – Sketch – Base Concave and Concave command, Detail 13 Smoothness 3 Lighting Right (you can adjust the time to your satisfaction).
15. Add a layer style to the meteor layer. Inner Glow Opacity 75% Color #c79a1d
Bevel relief depth 690, the overlay mode of the shadow part is color deepening, color #b5761d
#7a2808 You don’t have to copy these parameters, you can try adjusting them to get the best results.
17. Use the Smudge Tool (r) to add a tail to the shooting star. Haha, I didn’t add it very well.
18. Open a cloud material found on the Internet and execute the decolorization (ctrl+shift+u) command. Use the rectangle tool to draw a cloud that you are satisfied with, and execute Edit – Define Photo.
19. The next step is to make a cloud brush. Step 1 Select a soft-angled brush. I chose brush No. 30 here. Then open the texture option and choose to change the photo we defined. The mode is overlay and the zoom value is 19% (the size of the defined photo is different and the zoom value is different. You can try moving it to see the effect). Turn on Transfer (also called Other Dynamics) and adjust the Opacity to 38%, then check both Airbrush and Smooth. Please contact me for reprinting, otherwise I will be held responsible…
20. Create a new layer named Smokescreen and use the brush you just defined to outline the tail of the smokescreen as shown below. Continue to create a new layer Smokescreen 2, adjust the opacity of the brush transfer and the size of the brush and outline again.
21. Create a new layer of Smoke Screen Yellow, adjust the foreground color to dark yellow, change the layer overlay mode to Soft Light, and brush it again with the defined brush.
22. Next, we will use the materials. Drag the materials below into PS (here are 2 explosion effects. I used one and 2 fragmented PNG pictures. In addition, I also collected If you are interested in the explosion brush, you can create the explosion effect yourself). Please contact me for reprinting, otherwise I will be held responsible…
23. As shown below, drag the two fragments in png format into the image, adjust their size and position, and then add a mask to cover the ones in front of the building. Adjust the layer mode of Fragment 2 to Darken as shown below. Please contact me for reprinting, otherwise I will be held responsible…
24. Drag the exploded image in and copy a layer. The overlay mode is filter and soft light respectively. Add a mask to the soft light to cover the poor edge connection.
25. Execute the Edit-Transform-Deform command to adjust the explosion shape of the color filter layer.
26. Create a new layer named “Smoke” and draw a rectangular selection with a feather size of about 20 and fill it with white. Execute Filter-Render-Layered Clouds as shown below. Change the layer overlay mode to Hard Light and the layer transparency to 66%. Then duplicate the “Smoke” layer and change the overlay mode to Soft Light and 54% transparency. Please contact me for reprinting, otherwise I will be held responsible…
27. Use the Burn tool (o) to add layers to the image below. Please contact me for reprinting, otherwise I will be held responsible…
28. Create a new layer and execute the stamp command (ctral+shift+alt+e) and then execute filter-rendering-lighting effect.
Finally add a Simple Map adjustment layer, set the layer overlay mode to Soft Light gradient color #1a0000 to #b3720b and adjust the opacity to 48%. Ok, at this point, you are done.
