The final effect of making Vista style icons using Photoshop is as follows:

The steps are as follows:

1. Create a new image document (shortcut key Ctrl N), with the background color #2a2a2a, the width and height depend on your needs.

2. Select the rounded rectangle Tool from the Tools bar (shortcut key U), and set its radius to 5 in the options bar pixels, color is black, draw a graphic similar to the following shape:

3. Rename “Shape 1” Layer to “Button Background”, double-click in the blank space to open LayerStyle dialog box. Apply “Outer Glow”, “Inner Glow”, “Gradient Overlay”, “Stroke” and other styles to the layer. The specific settings are as shown in the figure:

　4. Create a new layer and name it “Gloss”. Select the “Rectangular Marquee Tool” (shortcut key M) from the toolbar and draw a selection as shown below.

5. Now we need to get the selection of the button part. Hold down the Shift Ctrl Alt key and use the mouse to click the “Layer Thumbnail” icon of the “Button Background” layer to get a selection of the button part.

6. Select ” Select->Modify->Shrink”, set the shrink amount to 1 pixel, and shrink the selection by 1 pixel.

7. Click to select the “gloss” layer and fill the selection with white #ffffff. Ctrl D Deselect. In the Layers panel, reduce the opacity to 20%. In this way, a beautiful texture button is created.

8. Finally, enter the required text on the button. Make sure the text layer is below the “glossy” layer, and adjust the opacity of the text layer appropriately if necessary. The final rendering is as follows:
