This tutorial introduces how to beautify grayish character pictures. The general process: First of all, the color of the picture needs to be repaired, especially the skin color, which needs to be adjusted to a more realistic skin color. Then slowly modify some details, such as skin grinding, local polishing, adding texture, etc. Make the characters look more delicate.

1. Open the original image material, press Ctrl + J to copy the background layer, change the layer blending mode to “Overlay”, and change the opacity to: 20%, the effect is as shown below.
2. Create a gradient mapping adjustment layer. Set the color as shown in Figure 2. After confirmation, change the layer blending mode to “Soft Light” and the opacity to: 50%. The effect is as shown in Figure 3.
3. Create a color balance adjustment layer and adjust the highlights. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 4, and the effect is as shown in Figure 5.
4. Create an optional color adjustment layer and adjust red, yellow, and white. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 6 – 8, and the effect is as shown in Figure 9.
5. Create an optional color adjustment layer and adjust red and magenta. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 10 and 11, and the effect is as shown in Figure 12.
6. Create a new layer and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E to stamp the layer. Choose a method you are familiar with to remove spots on your face. The approximate effect is as shown below.
7. Create a brightness/contrast adjustment layer. Set the parameters as shown in Figure 14. After confirming, use a black brush to erase the hair part. The effect is as shown in Figure 15.
8. Create a new layer, stamp the layer, and execute: Filter > Others > Customize. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 16. After confirmation, change the layer opacity to: 30%. The effect is as shown in Figure 17.
9. Create a brightness/contrast adjustment layer. The parameter settings are as shown in Figure 18. After confirmation, only the face of the character will be retained. Use a black brush to erase the other parts. The effect is as shown in Figure 19.
10. Create a new layer, change the layer blending mode to “Screen”, set the foreground color to: #F3E2A9, and use a brush to highlight the upper right corner. The effect is as shown below.
